Ogg Vorbis is an open source project to store multimedia data. It has some advantages over the older MP3 audio format and can compress files with higher encoding quality at a smaller filesize. On the other hand, most hardware players only support the MP3 format and doesn't play Ogg.

How to open / play Ogg music files
Ogg audio files can be played with the free multimedia player VLC (http://www.videolan.org/vlc/) and new versions of WinAMP (www.winamp.com).

Then choose the output format and click "Umwandeln":

Now you can choose the encoding bitrate and methode: constant bitrate (CBR, more compatible to hardware MP3 players) or variable bitrate (VBR). MP3 files sounds good with at least 128 kbits, better 192 kbits. At this settings you most of the time cannot hear a difference between MP3 and audio cds.
