Hey, i posted a few ays ago about my slow computer.. thanks for ur answers but didnt help. I decided to increase the power... my notebook (acer travelmate) is 2 yrs old and has 2x256MB RAM. What is the maximum I can change it into? How much is it, what do you think?

Hi |

It's hard to say how much memory your notebook can handle. The best way should be to have a look at the manual. If you can't find the desired information, you can ask the vendor.

However, I'm pretty sure that your notebook can take more than the installed 512 MB. Be aware that most notebooks have only 2 RAM sockets. If this is the case for you, this would mean that you have to remove the installed modules in order to replace them by modules with higher capacity.

Hi!

If you go to the Acer Website: http://us.acer.com/
click there on "NOTEBOOKS" left and then select your model, you'll find there in the middle somewhere:

More info
Product Catalogue
Technical specifications

Click on the tech. infos, and it should say something like:

Memory
2GB (1GB installed in each of two memory slots) DDR2 533 SDRAM

User upgradeable up to 4GB (one 2GB memory card in each slot)* subject to availability of 2GB cards
